Fundraising at GIS
The German International School thrives on the generosity of our community. There are many ways you can take an active role in fostering the school’s mission and ensuring the best possible educational environment for students.
How We Fund Our School
- Tuition covers approximately 80% of the school’s operational needs.
- Support from the German Government covers about 5% of our operational needs. The Zentralstelle für Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA), provides financial support based on enrollment, income, expenses, and growth.
- We make up the income gap with fundraising and other earned income sources.
Why We Conduct Fundraising
Fundraising (a) keeps tuition reasonable, (b) provides a modest financial assistance program, and (c) maintains the high standards of excellence through distinguishing curriculum and programs such as arts, sports, music, science, and the IB Program.
Employee Gift Matching Programs
Did you know you can increase your support for the German International School at no cost to you?
- Companies like Intel, Nike, NVIDIA, Anchor, B of A, Boeing, U.S. Bank, Tektronix Foundation and many others support causes that are important to their employees, retired employees and their spouses by matching their charitable gifts!
- Please check to see if your employer participates in a Matching Gift Program… Your gift may be matched or even tripled by your company!
We are grateful for your generosity and hope you will take great pride in the important difference your gift makes.
Thank you to the following companies for supporting our school through their employee gift matching programs:
Ways to Give
ExÜBERance in Learning Campaign
Donations to this fund are critical. It takes the support of our community to bridge the funding gap and provide the excellent, bilingual education that we offer. Your fundraising dollars help pay for crutial items such as faculty compensation, teacher training, long-term improvements to our building and other top priorities to improve the educational experience of our students. Within the ExÜBERance in Learning Campaign, there are three additional giving categories if you prefer to choose how your funds get spent. Click on the "Donate" button below to contribute to our campaign.
