Hallo! My name is Brandon Archer, and I am an Oregon native. I first started learning German in high school, but quickly grew to love it, and eventually received the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange scholarship to study abroad in Aachen, Germany from 2006-2007. Ever since, I have made regular trips to Europe to visit and explore. I later graduated from Portland State with bachelor’s degrees in English and German literature, followed by my CELTA English-teaching certification. From 2014 – 2017, my wife and I have been teaching English as a foreign language: first in Weihai, China; then Busan, South Korea; and most recently, Nanjing, China. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing games and learning languages. I am very excited to join the team at GIS - both as an Extended Care teacher and as a substitute - as these positions give me the opportunity to work with awesome kids, develop my skill as an educator, and have the opportunity to practice German every day! Danke für’s lesen!
