Preschool Assistant Teacher
I was born in the Chicago area and received my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Notre Dame with a double major in English and German. After graduation, I was accepted into the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange Program for Young Professionals (CBYX) and spent the year in Germany, where I participated in an intensive 3-month language course and then completed internships in publishing. After returning to Chicago, I worked at Bank Austria before going back to school to complete my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. For several years, I worked as an OT at the Rehab Institute of Chicago and then later at OHSU after my family and I decided to move to Portland in 2014. After a few years of staying home to focus on my family, I returned to my passion for the German language and culture and joined the GIS team as a substitute teacher’s assistant in the preschool program. This year I am very excited to be returning to that role full-time. My favorite hobbies are cooking, reading and hiking with my husband and two children.
