Preschool & Kindergarten Floating Assistant
Although I was born here in Oregon, I moved to Hawaii just before the start of high school. After living on an island in the middle of the ocean for four years, I had a strong desire to travel and experience life in another part of the world. I chose Vienna, Austria as the destination for my college study abroad experience mostly because of my passion for classical music and that one Billy Joel song called “Vienna.” After only four months in Vienna, I fell in love with Austria and the German language. After studying abroad, I finished my degree in Music Therapy at Pacific University while also pursuing German studies on the side.
My Bachelor’s degree and board certification may make me a music therapist, but I have always had a passion for teaching and working with children. This past year, I completed an internship at Portland Music Therapy, where I worked primarily with children diagnosed with autism and other neurological disorders. I’m thrilled to combine my passions for German, music, and teaching this year at GIS. I hope to inspire your children to enjoy learning German as much as I do!
