Extended Care Assistant Teacher
I was born and raised in a small town in Niedersachsen, Germany. I first moved to the United States in 2009 to a town named Chattanooga in Tennessee. My journey to the Pacific Northwest began in 2013 when I moved to Corvallis to start my Bachelor’s degree in physical Oceanography. Being an outdoor enthusiast and passionate about hiking and winter sports, I stayed in this beautiful state and moved to the Portland area. While pursuing my Bachelors, I also completed a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). My interest in geography has always been big, but the certificate intrigued me to go further. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems and Technology to keep learning and to gain further knowledge in the complex world of GIS.
I love working with children and have many years of babysitting/child care experience. While in high school I worked with 4-6 year olds as an assistant swim teacher and always enjoyed teaching the kids and watching them learn. I believe it is important to awaken a joy in learning at a young age and I am very happy to be part of the Extended Care team to help make that joy in learning part of the school day.
