The German language has fascinated me from a very young age. I grew up in a household where Yiddish was always in the mix. My mother always described it as “German with a twist!”. I studied German all four years of high school and ended up minoring in it while I was studying International Business in San Francisco.
During my time there I had the opportunity to work at the San Francisco Friends School, where we were taught to educate children while honoring the fundamentals of Quakerism. Educating children in an environment where everyone is equal, but celebrated for their individuality. Where they are seen and heard without judgment, giving every student the space to express their needs. Engaging with them about how they can help support the communities around them, and how to lead with compassion and empathy. I am so excited to share the German language with our students, so they can love learning it as much as I did.
