I was born in Schwangau, a little beautiful village close to the Alps in Germany, right in front of the world famous Neuschwanstein castle. I graduated from the University of Furtwangen with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and worked in this field for a couple of years. In 2008 my husband and I decided to move to Spain where we lived and worked some further years before our journey continued to San Diego, California.
It was always important to me that our two children were able to understand and speak their mother’s and father’s native languages (German and Spanish). During my volunteer time in their bilingual elementary school, I discovered my love to help children learn and was able to put that desire into practice as a German language teacher for kids at the San Diego Kinderwerkstatt. In 2018 my family and I moved to Vancouver, Washington and we love it here (given the similarity of the landscape to my hometown). I am looking forward to help all our GIS children to get to know the German language and culture a little better this school year.
In my free time I love to spend time outdoors and I like to read and to learn new things.
