Hallo! It’s been such a joy working for GIS as a substitute teacher and floater. I grew up in Central Pennsylvania where I started learning German in high school. I quickly became very passionate about travel, culture, and language and continued my German studies in college at Penn State. After three years there, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech Therapy) in 2018. I decided to take a year off and moved to Philadelphia where I worked in restaurants and traveled when I could. While in Philly I was accepted to the audiology program at Pacific University in Hillsboro. Thus began my journey to Oregon!
I chose not to attend graduate school because I plan to one day move abroad to teach English. This school has provided such an incredible learning experience working with so many wonderful students and role models on our staff to look up to. Outside of filling various positions at GIS as a substitute, I also work at Big’s Chicken here in Beaverton and stay busy with camping, hiking and backpacking, snowboarding, and dreaming of getting to travel again!
