I was born and raised in New Jersey before moving to Pennsylvania to complete my degree in German Area Studies and Education. I lived and studied in Freiburg im Breisgau and have traveled around Germany extensively. Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and when I was a part of an exchange program with a school in Pfullingen, I knew that German was going to be what I wanted to teach. I student-taught in a German world language program that spanned from 8th to 12th grades. I have worked a variety of jobs that always circle back to education, including as a teaching assistant in a preschool, an environmental educator at a county park, and volunteering as a youth group teacher. Teaching at GIS combines my love of the German language with my passion for teaching children to better understand the world around them.
Outside of the classroom, I love to read and enjoy baking and tea. I practice yoga often and am a certified teacher. I like to hike and have been enjoying all the beautiful sights Oregon has to offer. I have an adorable cat named Zoë who loves to snuggle.
