Robert Glatz

Having spent the first decade of my life living in Mittel-Franken, Deutschland; I developed a 1st hand appreciation of the culture and language. During my schooling in America, I was saddened to see many of the German language programs I attended diminish and cease. This struck a somber chord for me, as I knew, even then, what a wonderful opportunity for cultural learning was lost to children that came after me. This opportunity is the fundamental motivation for enrolling my own children at GIS. I value the fact that GIS enables them to become bilingual, well-rounded, and global citizens.

I feel very strongly about the Mission and purpose of GIS. In fact back in 2013, I made available my professional skills & experience to our Board. Since then I have the chaired the Building Committee and served the Finance Committee on duties as assigned. My personal goal is to make the German International School the benchmark that other immersion schools look to for gauging their own success.
