Facilities Support

Position description:

The Facilities Support Person will closely assist the Facilities Director and play a vital role in maintaining the physical space of the school, ensuring the facility is in excellent condition and providing general maintenance and repair support across the campus. If you are a handy, detail-oriented person who enjoys problem-solving and maintaining a safe and efficient environment, we would love to hear from you! The position comprises approximately 85% facilities assistance and 15% tech support.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Support

  • Maintain community appearance and inspect property for damages and maintenance requirements
  • Engage in day-to-day maintenance tasks as needed
  • Help to develop preventative maintenance policies
  • Assist in code compliance programs, including asbestos management, lead in water, soils, paints; air quality, and disposal of hazardous waste
  • Respond to weather or facility related emergencies (24/7)
  • Participate in the planning and designing of new and remodeled facilities

  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other school staff to address facility-related issues in a timely manner.
Tech Support:

  • Be the first contact for all technology related questions
  • Manage Google for Education Suite
  • Maintain device and software inventory, including various printers, desktops, Chromebooks, and Chromecasts
  • Guide research and purchasing process for new equipment/software
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve for the entire organization
  • Find Google best practices and smart solutions for the entire organization
  • Assist with campus access control management/issues
  • Relay to and assist the offsite IT contractor with any network/server issues
  • Maintain PCI compliance

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a facilities support role or similar handy/maintenance position.
  • Past technology experience preferred, especially with Google products/software
  • Can-do and problem-solving personality
  • Positive, outgoing and friendly attitude in words and actions
  • Calm communicator with adults and students from age 2 to 12 years old
  • Open-minded team player as well as ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to track multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure
  • Comfortable with using power and hand tools
  • Reliability and Punctuality
  • Comfortable maintaining confidentiality
  • Criminal background check required
  • Current Food Handler license; (obtain the training within 15 days of employment)
  • Current First Aid/CPR cards; (obtain the training within 90 days of employment)

Working conditions:

  • 40 hours per week in an office and multi-campus environment; on/off desk
  • Flexible hours
  • Willingness to lift and move things around and be active at work

GIS does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Start Date: in 8 weeks

Salary $45,000~$50,000
