German & Chinese Classes

Deutschkurse für Jugendliche 中文选修课

GIS offers German and Chinese Teen & Middle School classes so students can continue their language education.

German Teen Class 


January 23-May 7 (minus spring break), 15 weeks.

Tuesdays, 4:45-6 p.m. Open to 7th grade and above.

Extension: 4:15-4:45 p.m. Those registered to take the test only and only through March 12, 8 sessions.

Test dates: Wednesday, March 13, written exam; Tuesday, March 19, oral exams.

Students must enroll in both, Fall and Spring term, in order to take the test.

For high schoolers age 14-18 who love to argue, or who would like to learn to speak better German. Jugend debattiert provides a fun way to explore the vocabulary and step-by-step practices that give students the confidence to talk about their ideas and opinions.

This class is strongly recommended for anyone planning to take the Deutsches Sprachdiplom II (advanced German exam) in the fall, but also open to anyone who likes teamwork and competition. Check out this video about the program.

Wednesdays, 5:15-6:45 p.m., January 24-May 15 (minus spring break), 16 weeks

Chinese Teen Class

Annual Term: 9/12/23 - 6/11/24 (36 weeks); No class during the weeks of: 11/20, 12/18, 12/25, 3/25.

Class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5 p.m.
