Franziska Rolle

1st Grade Teacher, German Track

"... und in jedem Anfang wohnt ein Zauber inne ...“, "… and there is a magic in every beginning …“ (Hermann Hesse).

I am Franziska Rolle and I am passionate about early education. I was born in Berlin and raised in Halle (Saale).

At the age of 16, I became a ski instructor. I really love to work with children and got some great early experience teaching kids to ski. After graduating from high school, I spent a year as an au pair in Lexington, Massachusetts. From then on, I knew I wanted to become an elementary school teacher. I studied at the University of Osnabrück and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education. I completed my second state examination in Hildesheim.  As part of my studies, I wanted to gain deeper insights into different education models, and did extensive research on the Swedish and Namibian school systems.

I spent eight years teaching elementary school in Berlin and Halle (Saale). Learning is a lifelong process and I see my role as a teacher as working to instill the joy of lifelong learning in my classroom.

My husband and three children will tell you that I greet each day as a chance to learn and grow.

With reference to the Hesse quote, it is great to work at GIS and become parts of its magic.

We are incredibly excited to be part of the GIS community!
