Luke Stotler

Early Learning SEL Specialist

Luke was born and raised in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area. In high school, he was sponsored by Rotary Youth Exchange to study abroad in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is from this exchange year that Luke derives his working knowledge of the German language. He is learning more every day!

When the weather is nice, Luke enjoys spending time outdoors in the natural beauty that the Pacific Northwest offers. He is more likely to be found indoors on rainy days, cooking his favorite vegan meals or baking fresh bread. As a self-proclaimed nerd, he must also add that he plays Dungeons & Dragons weekly, and loves board games of all types.

A graduate of Portland State University, he majored in psychology and minored in mathematics. Much of his coursework focused on human development, cognition, and statistics. Before joining GIS, he worked as a behavior therapist providing social and emotional support for children with ADHD and autism. Luke's approach to social and emotional learning allows him to meet each individual student where they are at, well-preparing him for teaching the Second Step curriculum. He is very excited to join the GIS team!
