The Parent Circle

The Parent Circle at GIS is a volunteer parent organization that supports GIS’s mission by fostering community, volunteerism, and parent engagement in alignment with the IB Learner Profile and multicultural values. It works collaboratively with GIS administration and serves as a parent representative to the Board of Directors. All parents and guardians of currently enrolled GIS students are eligible members.

What We Do

The Parent Circle consists of a facilitator team and support teams, with the core missions of increasing parent engagement and volunteerism, supporting GIS staff and community, and public community outreach opportunities.

  • No! We encourage all parents to volunteer at the level and ability that is a best fit for them. Whether it’s reading to a classroom, decorating a car for Trunk or Treat, or joining the library volunteer committee. We want all parents to participate in a way that is most efficient and effective for them.

  • Reach out! We would love to know more about you, what you’d be interested in, and match you with the right volunteer opportunities that feel great for everyone!

  • We want to custom fit all volunteer opportunities to our parents from all walks of life. We want to create opportunities that are a best fit for you!   • As much or as little as you can or want to! We have volunteer opportunities that are on campus during school hours, and volunteer opportunities and asks that are on weekends, evenings, or done at home on your own time. Reach out and fill out our volunteer interest form so we can best pair you with the right opportunity.
