Laternlein #14: Art, Community, and a Little Seasonal Magic at GIS
A Community Powered by Gratitude
One of the most beautiful things about our school is how deeply our community shows up for one another, and this week, we’re overflowing with thanks.
A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who made our “Light Up for the Arts” event such a meaningful success. The creative stations, joyful energy, and hands-on experiences would simply not have been possible without your time, care, and support. You helped create something truly special for our students.
Growing Beauty in Our Art Garden
A huge and very grateful thank you to Deborah Austin, who spent countless hours designing, purchasing, and planting to enhance our school landscape. Her work has already transformed the front of our campus, and we cannot wait to watch the grasses flourish this spring in what is soon to be our beautiful Art Garden. This is a gift that will grow for years to come.
Saving Middle School Wardrobes, One Apron at a Time
Another big thank you goes out to Jennifer Bee for donating fabric and hand sewing aprons for our Middle School Art Program. Middle school parents everywhere can breathe easier knowing their children’s outfits are now officially protected from permanent paint and Mod Podge disasters. We are endlessly grateful for both the generosity and the dedication behind this gift.

Our Little Lion Dance Troupe Is Officially Born
We are thrilled to share that our Little Lion Dance Troupe has officially begun! Our first practice was filled with excitement as Taylor (CFAP) introduced little lions to the story and routine they will perform on February 20 during our Lunar New Year Celebration Night.
Our little lions watched the full run-through, then rolled up their sleeves and began learning the Seven Stars routine, breaking it down step by step. The energy was high, the focus was strong, and the joy was unmistakable. We can already tell this is going to be something truly special.
