Therapy Services for GIS Students

Now offering on-site counseling at the German International School

Ashley Bauer, LPC, founder of Base Behavioral Health and a GIS parent, is honored to partner with GIS to provide on-site, school-based therapy services for students in a supportive and familiar environment.

What Is School-Based Therapy?

School-based therapy provides students with counseling support during the school day, right at school.

This allows students to access care in a comfortable space they already know.

Sessions help students:

• Understand and express their emotions

• Learn healthy coping skills

• Build confidence and resilience

• Strengthen problem-solving abilities

• Navigate stress, transitions, and challenges

Therapy is confidential, collaborative, and tailored to each student’s needs, with coordination between

families and school staff as appropriate. In addition to school-based therapy, Base Behavioral Health

offers play therapy and psychological assessments.

Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Ashley! I provide a warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed space where children and teens

can safely explore their emotions, build resilience, and strengthen self-confidence. My approach is child-

centered and incorporates evidence-based practices such as:

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

• Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

• Mindfulness

• Emotion regulation strategies

I will be working collaboratively with families and school staff to support students’ overall well-being, helping students feel more confident, connected, and supported at school and at home.

Services are available for students ages 5 and up and are in-network with the following:

Kaiser | Lyra | Aetna | Providence | Trillium | Blue Cross Blue Shield | First Choice Health | Pacific Source

I’m grateful to be part of the GIS community and excited to support students and families. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered.
